    M42 radiator hose options revisited

I dug up all the old threads and they all say the same thing, trimmed m50 upper hose (e36 and e34 are the same), and late m20 or m50 lower hose.

This doesn't work for me. At all. I also tried going to auto zone and looked through every single hose. And I can't find the drive-right hose that Fred was talking about.

I ended up using 2 early m20 upper hoses. One trimmed a little, one trimmed a lot. The pinch on the lower is more then I like to see, and the way upper the hose stretches over the thermostat housing makes it feel like it's going to rip.

    What is everyone else doing?

        its for the euro M50.
I dont have pics. I found the info when I was searching through some threads over on bimmerforums.
I dont remember what i was looking for but I remember he said the hoses are from a euro e36 with the M50 because the used the same rad as the M42.

Is that what you used? Do they fit directly on? I wouldn't think the engine is as close to the rad as it is in an e30.

Where did you get yours from?

EDIT... I didn't see your other posts. I'll check it out. Thanks

No I used whatever hose I could find at the auto store.
They let me go in the back and check hoses out before I bought them.
I just looked for hoses with the sharpest 90 on it.
I know on my lower hose I cut off about a foot from one side and like 6 inches off the other.
My upper hose I cut like 1 inch off one side and nothing off the other.

Yeah I tried that at autozone and I found nothing. I'm going to pep boys today.

I saw it, I have the ETK. I just don't want to order them from the dealer for probably $25 a piece and have them not fit. If anyone can verify that they do indeed fit, that would be great.

Here are some pics of euro 325i's from ebay.de. What do you guys think about the position of the engine relative to the radiator? I think the e36 radiator sits a good 3-4 inches further forward, which might cause some issues.

I think the actual hose is made by Dayco. Dayco PN 70115.

I think it is an upper radiator hose on a 97-01 Ford Explorer 4.0L, so maybe if you go back to Auto Zone with this info, you might be able to get something that resembles what you need.

Gates 20230 looks like it might fit as well.
