    Problem with an M roadster

So my friends car is throwing a check engine light. Each time it does it is a quart low. He just drove 1200 miles and it threw a check light. pulled the dip stick and it was a quart low. He filled it up and 10mins later throws another check light. Its not leaking at all from anywhere that I can see. Any one have an idea of what it could be?

    thanks

Well... if it loses a quart of oil in 10 minutes, it's leaking oil. That stuff doesn't just evaporate. Look harder.

Are you putting oil into the right spot? Sounds like you're filling the wrong hole.

You should scan it. It will tell you whats wrong.

And scan it with a peake or something BMW specific, not a freaking generic OBDII tool.

Are you part of a local BMW CCA group? I'd be willing to guess someone there would have a Peake reader.
