So my alternator decided to take a crap on me and I'm having trouble finding what I should get as a replacement. The original was a Bosch part number 0120465031. Currently it's sitting at the alternator repair shop I took it to that told me it wasn't fixable, but I'm pretty sure it was the 140A version. I'm seeing wildly different prices for these things from 140 to 300 bucks, so I want to make sure I get the right one. I'd prefer an OEM replacement, but if you guys have had luck with a great non OEM alternator, I'm open to ideas.

140 Amp is probably overkill, but I would get it from FCP with lifetime warranty https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw-alternator-al0739x

Generic observation: the shaft on the left looks like it's designed for a stamped- steel v- belt pulley,
and the one on the right for a multi- ribbed 'serpentine' cast pulley.
If the shaft sticking out doesn't hit anything, you can simply put a spacer on the front of the pulley
to clamp your sheet metal pulley. If there's no room, then further part number research is needed.
