S50us with E36 Evo 6 Speed - Which custom transmittion Mount?

So, I see a lot of threads about swapping in a e46 420G 6 speed with a S50us, but nothing specifically dealing with a euro e36 evo 6 speed.

Should I assume the housings are identical with same length with the same tabs, and look to the condor custom extension tabs since they mention the euro 6 speed int he description?: https://www.garagistic.com/collectio...-speed-bracket
anyone have pictures of this installed?

or a custom made bracket like here? https://www.r3vlimited.com/board/for...ission-bracket
or some bolt on extensions... https://www.kasselperformance.com/pr...-mounting-kit/

Has anyone used the euro e36 6 speed with a S50us/52 and what did you use?

Also, I see driveshaft recommendation was a auto 328i/m3 driveshaft, but this thread noted it was barely long enough: https://www.r3vlimited.com/board/for...speed-your-e30

Thanks, just want to get everything ready before starting.

The Euro e36 6-speed transmission is the Getrag 420G, isn't it?

It is a 420G, but I think it has a different model code of 226 compared to the later boxes. the housing marks are 226.0.0276.92 and 226.0.0440.90

I assume it is identical because why would they change housings, but also want opinion on the best custom tranny brace since there are a few options.

      thanks!

The Bayside Fabrication one is the best among your list.
        It costs $200 with shipping.

The others you posted will be mounted incorrectly. They will flex. I don't know how to explain it better.
They have extenders that are mounted in the original brace position. The BF one is mounted under the transmission.

I believe the E46 SMG transmission can be converted to manual, and it's a popular choice now.

And Kassel is for the ZF GS6-37.

The only difference between an E46 and E36 M3 420G is a different clutch spline count, so it shares the same 240mm clutch as a US M3 and US/European 328i. Good luck finding one, and if you do you'll be paying top dollar for it. You would be better off finding an E46 M3 420G.

+1 For the Bayside Fabrication trans bracket! Fit perfectly on my e30 s52/420g. I tried the Garagistic tabs first with no luck. I’m also using a BM speedshop shifter, e36 m3 auto driveshaft and AKG e36 M3 evo dssr.

Thanks, Bayside fabrication it is. I was planning on the AKG dssr as well. was going with stock linkage otherwise.

How do you like the BM shifter, is that the one that bolts direct to the tunnel?

Already got the evo 6 speed a few weeks ago, just need all the other parts go go with it for the swap as it came with the e36 driveshaft and support.
Justified it by hopefully not needing to change the stock 3.73 diff.

and it looks like according to realoem the e36 m3 auto shaft is 1346mm and the 328i auto shaft is 1275. the other thread had the required length for the custom fabbed one at 1380.
On the e36 m3 auto driveshaft you used, did it have the splines so you can separate it and 'stretch' it a little or the fixed joint?

I love the BM shifter, very precise and uses four mounting bolts. Does require drilling two holes but it’s spread out and solid. Using revshift oe+ mounts all around to reduce movement of the engine/trans for it.

I actually bought a Garagistic shifter but it came too low underneath and touched the driveshaft. Even with it adjusted up as much as I could.

I was under the impression only the e36 m3 auto shaft worked, not the 328. But I could be wrong. I installed an e30 center bearing w/thicker m3 guibo and the driveshaft did have a good amount of adjustability in the splines. I have at least an inch of spline engagement.

                  Perfect, thanks.

Ill grab a auto m3 driveshaft. The 328 auto according to realoem is a inch shorter which aint gonna work. There was a thread on bfc about people trying to use the m3 auto shaft in place of a evo shaft with the e46 420g and it barely fit, and the 328 was a no go.

And you used a e36 or the e46 m3 quibo?

I was planning on AKG transmission mounts with the cups and their engine mounts. The BM shifter is half the price of the oe shift level and carrier, just slightly worried about it with the softer mounts.

                    I think the e36 and e46 m3 use the same guibo. It’s 26112226527

Im using the softest mounts revshift makes. Should be comparable to the akg ones. I bet the evo setup is nice and smooth too
