    Electric Fan CFM

Quick Question, I've been looking at a few different electric fans that I could run. What is the lowest CFM I would be able to run to keep it cool?

I saw a few different ones just trying to get a base number before I buy.

Also if you guys wouldn't mind posting up the links to the fans that you bought, need to see all my options, and the correct dimensions for the fan.

I find that a 16" fan rated for 1600cfm is barely adequate in the south when driving in stop and go traffic. And that is with the stock M20B25 engine and no A/C. As a means of providing cooling for the engine bigger is definitely better.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I would get a 2000cfm fan at least. if you get a curved blade fan it will be more efficient and quieter. 16" is a perfect fit too.

so 2000 CFM min. Then 16x16x? something slim right not trying to get a new fan to get crushed in a week.

take that back I'm going to mount it in the front. What works better a pusher or a puller.

16" 3000 CFM Perma Cool does a great job for my s52 in stupid LA traffic. ;)

a puller, but any 2000+cfm 16" pusher is going to work just fine. It also gives more room to work in front of the motor.

Puller works better than a pusher but not by all that much.

The reason is that the radiator fins reduce the space for the air leaving the fan to continue the vortex that help keep up the velocity past the blade's trailing edge (not like you really needed to know this).

2000 CFM is enough except for conditions like this stupid (to an old man like me anyway) drifing thing where the engine is raging like hell and the ram air is all but non existent.

Oh, and 2 10" fans is what I'd use.

How much cfm do you loose by using a pusher instead of a puller?

What's a stock aux fan rated at? That's what I run and have had no issues.

i got that ebay 3200 CFM 16" ZIRGO fan strapped to the front of my radiator. My car has never overheated.. event at drift events which are pretty harsh on a car's cooling ability.
