correct. however, this was just the first go around. I was just so excited i just wanted to post something about it.
After chatting with bob, alex, al, ect...... there seems to be confidence that the dips can easily be trimmed out and another 20ft lbs added across most of rev range.
in all honesty, bob (dyno guru) only had enough time to dial the intake cam once, and then dial the exhaust cam once...... there is a lot of fine tuning to be done.
regardless...... i am very pleased.
im sure alex (abl originals) will pipe in here soon. He is selling the plug and play kit for the s54.
Yeah I overlooked the point at which the curves crossed. What would the cost of PNP be Alex? Any idea?
you would have to chat with alex. I know there are a few options..... from just the dta - to - dta w/ harness that will literally plugs into your dme connector.....preloaded with a base map. Pricing is VERY competative when you think of what your getting. cheers, jason
This is great news for people looking to do the swap, I give it a year before S52's are old hat and the wave of S54 swaps is hitting. Prices on these engines are getting much cheaper. Cant wait to see it all buttoned up and what the final #'s are.
I have been following your thread on S14, do you know what the Front Rear balance is with the engine moved back 4 inches? How about total weight? I would love to see how this beast compares to something like John's 2.7L S14 in Germany. I am guessing you came out on top cost wise, as we all know S14 builds are not cheap...

I have read that thread a few times, I have a 91 318is with a blown M42 that I am trying to figure out to do with, Thanks for doing the weight comparisons, seems like you could get an aluminum block M50 to have close to the same Front Rear balance with a carbon fiber hood and maybe some cheap seats. I am leery with rumors of the headstuds stripping out with some of those blocks though.
Like I said, love the swap and can't wait to hear your impressions when you get it out on the track...
