Will there be a S54 f.a.q. / how-to, like there is in the M/S50/2 section?

I'm not running the E46 M3 PWM relay. I have a modded stock E46 ECU. Same one that Fred is using.
Tyler is who did my subframe and pan also. The only issues I had with it were some slight clearance around the steering rack, in which I had to grind a bit of the subframe bracket for the rack. The second issue was with clearance to the bolts on the pan on the passenger side rear. There wasn't enough space to get the last bolt in. A stud welded to the pan would be the best fix there.

FWIW, the stock E46 M3 pump pretty much drops straight into the E30's FP carrier (late model, both 4 and 6 cyl). I'm not a fan of Walbro, but either way the stock M3 pump should work well, and you can get them pretty inexpensively.
Even a new stock E30 pump would probably be good enough, but it might not live as long since the S54 runs on 5 bars of fuel pressure instead of 3. It would probably be worth researching when the turbo guys are maxing out the stock E30 pumps.
I also think the PWM relay is worth keeping, should extend the pump's life as well as keeping things quieter.

Another thing on the fuel pump. I tried using a Walbro intank and I couldn't get the pump mounted to the stock mount in a way that would both secure it and allow me to actually get it in the tank. I believe the carriers for the E30 M3 and the standard E30 in tank pump are different. The M3's doesn't allow for a simple way to mount anything.

I really think the in tank fuel pump bracket is the same. I took the fuel pump out of my early m3 parts car And used it in a standard e30. I couldn't see any difference between the two.
Chris, why are you adamantly opposed to hydro boost? It is a bit complicated to get hoses made but no worse than anything you are working on now. It provides lots of braking power and works great with abs.sigpic

I think the stock booster can work, and work better. I know they've used the ix booster down at Castro's for an S54 swap. all they did was slide it over and modify the clevis. The driver's side where it would go is already going to be crowded and I don't want more weight up front.
it may be a good solution for some but it's not for me.
oh yeah, the doors on MSS54 have been blown wide open. The days of a $1500+ flash to get it working in an E30 are soon to be over.
