S54 starter wiring - unloader relay?

for those of you using an S54 starter - does it have a post to connect the wire for the unloader relay? if not, are you guys just grounding that wire?

There is no 30h on the S54 starter, so I ran a wire from C101 pin 15 to T50. This is of course for a late model with a separate unloader circuit.

      ok, that makes sense!

T50 is the main iggition/starter wire, correct?

ok - so a simple pin 15 to pin 18 jumper. sweet. :)

I connect C101 #15 (SW/GN) to the field terminal on the starter, which is terminal 30h on old starters so that's what I've labeled it as:

You can see that on a starter that has the separate terminal, 30h is connected to the field terminal:

another alternative is to use the M5x starter

but, the harness has no C101 pin 15 or terminal to connect there - so I think jumping 18/15 should work fine too. :)

Nope, the S54 harness does not have a wire to connect to it. That's why I include one in my wiring harness adapter. :)

Of course not--30h / unloader at C101 pin 15 is an E30 function. To duplicate that function you may jump 18 to 15, hook pin 15 to T50, or to the field terminal. It achieves the same function--unloading of the electrical system at start, and powering major current draw systems.

Of course, if you have an early E30, you don't have to worry about this at all.
