    N52 alternators

Here's the answer to a question nobody has asked:

There are 3 versions of N52 alternators: 180amp, 155amp and 110 amp. The 180amp comes on X cars and 3 series for heated seats and such, the 155 comes on 128's and maybe some X3's. The 110amp only comes on Euro market cars such as the 116, 118, 120, 318 and so on.

The 180amp is a chungas, it's huge and weights over 17lbs.

The 155amp is a bit smaller and weighs 15lb, 1.5Oz.

the 110amp is smaller yet and weighs 12lb, 14Oz.

They are all 100% interchangeable with only some minor differences in how the battery cable is positioned. More importantly, the 110amp is a good bit smaller than the 180amp and clears everything just a little bit better.

    The P/N for the 110amp is 0124325099

And here is a picture of a Subaru Justy alternator, just because it's the smallest alternator you can easily find
that can run the DME and the other modules you need to power a raceycar. But don't turn on the headlights for more than flash- to- pass...
