    ix transmission rebuild

Hey guys, I am wondering how much it would cost to have an IX transmission rebuilt, and where would be the best place for a person to have it done? Thanks so much!

It would probably be better to buy a used e30 transmission that's in decent shape, and swap the back half of the housing from your iX transmission. I'm not sure where you'd get it done.

Is it auto or manual? If it's auto you still have to tear it down to replace the out-put shaft into a non ix.

gw ix: the transmission in the car right now is manual

so what you guys are saying is that you can use a regular e30 transmission and just replace the back housing so the t-case bolts up? as long as the transmission is a manual?

Ixguido. Are you the same on the local www.Bcbimmers.com forum?

I have a good ix tranny with a crack in the back half of the case. Good deal if you want it to repair or swap your good back half onto.

I have had work done at Performance Gearing with great success. Jim likes the Getrag 260 transmission.
