Hey guys, I am wondering how much it would cost to have an IX transmission rebuilt, and where would be the best place for a person to have it done? Thanks so much!

It would probably be better to buy a used e30 transmission that's in decent shape, and swap the back half of the housing from your iX transmission. I'm not sure where you'd get it done. -

Is it auto or manual? If it's auto you still have to tear it down to replace the out-put shaft into a non ix.Comment

gw ix: the transmission in the car right now is manual
so what you guys are saying is that you can use a regular e30 transmission and just replace the back housing so the t-case bolts up? as long as the transmission is a manual?Comment

I have a good ix tranny with a crack in the back half of the case. Good deal if you want it to repair or swap your good back half onto.Comment

I have had work done at Performance Gearing with great success. Jim likes the Getrag 260 transmission.
