my $950 325ix

i was looking for a 5 speed for my red 89 ix when i found this one. initially i planned to buy it just for the complete 5 speed swap and then part what i could.

well... it turns out its in excellent shape. so i'll be keeping it and selling my red ix. sad too, i've poured a lot of time and money into the red ix over the last 2 months. rims, suspension, interior, full set of locks, hids, etc etc etc..

but the silver one is a promising car. its really unfortunate part of the head broke off, and not just a rocker. the head is excessively clean. its definitely has less than 50k on it. someone took very good care of this car. it has 245k miles on it, but its in equal shape compared to my red ix with 164k. both have crack free dashes btw. :)

nice! never seen a red pin stripe before.. not sure if im old on that cardinal interior but looks like a great pick up for only $950 assuming the awd system still works

i cant imagine it doesnt. this entire car has been gone over in the last 50k. regardless i have all the parts already sourced because i was going to do a 5 speed swap, if it doesnt work.

the guy i bought it from had the car for 2 months. the timing belt snapped on him and he caved. he had it listed at $1500. things were going well as i was looking over the car. when i was about to start talking price, the guy beat me to it and told me he dropped the price in his post on craigslist. i was like, "uhh.. ok. was that the price i saw or how much is it?" he told me he dropped it to $950. i waited all of 2 seconds and said, "Sold!" i later checked the ad and it said $1350. heh. he even had the car delivered to my house.

AWD works on the red ix. its pretty damn amazing. the grip is unreal. i think i'll regret selling it. but its auto...

Holy crap! I think that your silver iX was sold at the same dealer as mine was when new...
They are both the same color, some seats and have the same pin stripe on them.

^^ i dont think thats the same ix. rust on the front fender. early model fog lights. hood aero strips. different rear spoiler. mismatch paint door to rear quarter panel... etc. definitely the same at one point though. i think that time was 1988 though.

Im not saying mine is yours, because I know its not. Mine is in my garage....

I am saying that they both look the same, and may of been sold at the same dealership as the pin stripe was a dealer add on.

Also, that miss match paint job is just a illusion, its actually a shitty macco paint job the last owner got for it.

Mine is a 88 also, you can see the normal fog lights right next to the other fog lights.

we have matching IXs. how cool! are you going to swap to plastics? im considering it.. but not wholly convinced.

I did already, but my iX is in such poor condition with the rust holes coming up in the floor pan that I spray bombed it black/bed liner and am swapping in a m21 turbo diesel engine. I have another one thats black with red seats thats in much better shape, also has red pin stripes on it.
You can see it in the back ground of this shot



Plastics will make the car look much better, and they will be super easy to install on your car.

cool. how will you fit the turbo diesel in the ix? does it mate up to the ix block/ oil pan?
