I'm pretty sure there was never a chrome bumper ix touring produced by BMW

I found the car he wants to replicate, but the guy who built it seems to have faded away, he's in Switzerland. He did a build thread somewhere but I can't seem to find it.

There was, first year had them, They looked very odd. My buddy had one in his parts yard for years.

Maybe in a plain touring, but never in an ix touring. Production didn't start until 1988, long after the early chrome bumpers, and there definitely werent any with US diving boards.
