    strut bar options

i've found this... and i've read that the weichers bar is mandrel bent round. so that's a plus.

    and this...

but the mason bar for the ix looks retarded. square and no reinforcements on the sharp edges...?

    any input?

well, mason says they have an aluminum one? ask for photos. for a strut bar to really do a good job, it should have a way to mount to the firewall. unfortunately, in the case of an e30, we are cursed with having the a/c access panel in that location.

shipping from deutscheland for the other bar will be very pricey and to me, i don't think it looks much better than the mason. generally, if you are going to shell out the cash for something like this, you would want to go with the one that is stiffest. does it really matter what it looks like?

A Sparco strut bar is about as strong as you'll find and isn't expensive (~$130).
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Waste of money. I can't justify spending that money for the benefits of a strut bar. In my opinion I think that having ur wheels camber out is better for turning, why would u want to prevent that? I could be wrong. If I am correct me.

when i bought my eta, the PO's step brother had welded a solid bar between the rear towers and made a strut bar for the front. the front bar wasnt the best i've ever seen.

however, you could REALLY notice a huge difference in chassis rigidity when you jacked up one side of the car. it was very easily noticeable over a stock e30 chassis.

i cant find the sparco front bar. i can only find the rear.

this one CLAIMS it fits the front... but uh.. the ix is different from all the others so...

you can get the wiechers bar from bavauto, it works fine. although I wish I could just get my chassis seam welded, or add a full cage..
