    Experiences on shocks?

    Its time to throw away my bilsteins (hd) that are really fuckt. They didnt like a bit of lowering, and is bottoming in every little bump.
    Planning to buy adjustable Konis both front and rear, but is there any better or as good but cheaper choises out there from yor experience?

    you could trim the internal bump stops to stop bottoming out all the time.
    AWD > RWD

      send those billy's in to be custom revalved, like 70/shock

        Plus shipping x2 between Norway and USA :P

        To set it in perspective, a set of konis is 1000 usd up here so i dont wanna buy shocks that dosent turn up ok.
        Also got a broken coil and it seems like im going Lowtech once more, isnt to many choices.. :/

          ix right?

          why not do a GC coilover? none of the ix inserts meant for factory struts are going to be short enough, they will all bottom out (especially with soft drop in springs). GC can do a 1" shorter insert (more travel!) and sufficiently stiff rates that keep you from slamming into the bump stops all the time. also, their ix camber plate is super nice.

          otherwise, you will have the same problems with konis that you had with the bilstiens, especially if you just go with another soft drop in spring.

          of course to use the coilovers and shorter inserts effectively, you'll have to cut and weld your strut tubes.

            GC has for sure been up as an alternative, but when they arrive at my house the price is twice than when they left GC.
            Shipping and Norwegian taxes is cloose to insane..

            Thougt the Konis adjusted to max would help out a bit.

              no, they will be stiffer on rebound, but that won't help with bottoming out, or spring rates.

                Hmm.. Thats me used to offroaders and dont having theese issues at all..
                Guess ill have to wire some money to us and convince someone over there to beat up the package and make it look like some free crap, and send it as an gift to dodge the norwegian taxes :)

                So, a set of fresh Bilsteins should do as good a job as a set of Konis then?
                If so, what Bilsteins should i choose? Heard that the HDs dont like lowering at all..
                And springs, hard as hell if i can find them. Is there any exept for GC?
                Since ive got a touring it seems very limited, and mine is turboed so id like some stiff springs at rear if i could find them..

                    basically, yes, because they're both the same length.

                    GC uses eibach springs. the springs themselves are inexpensive - about $70-$80 a pair I think. the strut inserts and camber plates are where the money is. but if you want to be low, and you want your suspension to work well, there's really not a better choice for the ix. plus, if it's snowing out, you can raise the car back up to stock ride height. :)

                      Theese are the only springs im able to find at GC.

                      Will be around 650$ with delivery and tax, and Konis another 1000.

                      Do want them but the budget is limited and theres alot of other stuff coming up, and im using about 200$ a week on fuel.. :)

                        so i did call GC and the told me for everything it will be about 1500 and the price scared me a little i knew it was going to be expensive but 1500 damn seems a lil much to lower me 23 year old car. From peoples experience who have gotten the set up from GC is it worth it?

                            I need new suspension on my ix too, currently using factory at 150xxx miles. What is the best option for replacing everything without spending over a grand?
