another front driveshaft problem

No this moly 60 is meant strictly for splines on the rear drive shaft motorcycles. It was recommended from BMW. -
Ok so do I need to remove the front axles and put grease on those splines?
I know I need to do the front drive shaft...Leave a comment:

I use copper anti-seize on the CV shafts so they slide in and out of the hub easy, and don't get stuck of course. there's not relaly a rust problem there, unless they've never been removed.
what is honda moly 60 designed for? don't go with "should do the job" because you'll cause a lot of damage over a $20 tube of grease.
if it's meant for a similar application and it meets the same requirements (high pressure, oxidization resistance, water resistance, etc), then go for it. if it's just a CV joint grease or something then forget it..Leave a comment:

Not sure if you're trying to differentiate the driveshaft and axle. They're the same thing. There are splines on each end of the driveshaft. Splines on the outside seat in the wheel hub and the inside splines seat in the differential. You'll want to grease these splines to prevent corrosion.
Edit: Ahh...my bad NickiX. Assumed you were talking front driveshafts (axles). Your talking transfer case drive shaft. *facepalm*Leave a comment:

CV joint grease will not work.Leave a comment:

How about Liqui Moly, anyone? CV joint grease -- $6 at Pelican for 100g tube. I'm putting H&Rs on my ix pretty soon and plan to inspect/grease the splines at that time. Love my ix, but I always feel like I'm walking on eggshells with those front drive shafts.Leave a comment:

without lube, give the shaft about 6 months to live, tops.
the BMW motorcycle stuff isn't just similar, it's the same thing. I've never seen a BMW Motorcycle dealer though.Leave a comment:

Or the driveshaft lube from a BMW motorcycle dealer. Its really close to the original lube BMW used on the ixsLeave a comment:

Not that anyone will believe me, but I have over 15,000 miles logged without a front driveshaft.
