    if you just need to drive it somewhere to fix it, it will be fine. I wouldn't do a 1500 mile road trip or anything but 5 miles isn't going to hurt anything.

    did you have proper lube on the splines? dust cover in place? worn shaft in a new t-case? are the splines rusty at all?

    So I just joined the failed front driveshaft club after over two years, 50k miles, and a factory new transfercase. So hoping the year old t-case isn't also shot but I'll know in the morning. Does anyone know if the car can be driven without the front shaft? I just need to drive it to work to fix it.
