IX Transfercase, trans, and diff oil/fluid...

    Ok guys,

I've done some digging and can't find any of the threads regarding this topic. Could anyone point me in the right direction? I'm swapping in a fresher engine, trans, and transfer case with 70k miles into my IX to replace my still running 260k drivetrain and toasted VC. I need to know what fluids everyone is using, especially in the transfer case and VC limited slip diffs, as well as the fluid capacities. I found some fluid for the t-case at BavAuto, but it is the same stuff they recommend for the trans and I'm not sure that will suffice. Any direction is greatly appreciated.

Manual Trans. I remember everyone making a big deal out of Redline Synthetic? Is that just for the Trans and not for the tcase? I'd better do some more digging, in hopes of not looking stupid. I guess I assumed that the trans would get some form of gear oil and not atf.

Get your trans rebuilt. It'll cost about $1600. And you'll never worry about it again for the life of your ownership.

I wish rebuilds still cost $1600! Now you'll pay double.
