Help! Dad's iX is too much of a BAMF. What to do?

So I'm visiting my parents for Christmas in my E46 328i. When I arrive the 6inches of snow in the driveway almost keep me from getting down, and I needed some help to turn around. Over night, BAM, another 12 inches of snow and coming down heavy. I forgot my chains. My no-season tires aren't cutting it. Low and behold, Dad's iX to the rescue.

Note how he just yanks my nose sideways once we're on the road.

When we got to the main road we found it unplowed. He ended up towing me another 2.2 miles to the plowed part. At least twice my car tries to fish tail and I end up at a 45 degree angle to the road, and his car just yanks my nose straight again. I finally just put her in neutral and let him drag me up the hills. He did fine. How do I make his car less of a BAMF? Take one of his wheels off? I fear even that won't be enough. Help!

          I found the problem.

Ditch the chick's car (well... at least it's not a 325i) and snag a 330xi.

even so, a 2WD E30 with snow tires isn't going to pull an E46 uphill in the snow..

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.

This is true, but his snow tires are a season old, and not the kind that would have turned heads as unusual when first purchased.

Too true. The hills were not massive, but steep enough to sled down, and steep enough that if you were in a rear wheel drive car and the car in front of you stopped half way up the hill you'd be cursing and swearing :)

He had to use 1st gear most of the time on the hills. He tried to shift to second once and didn't have the umph to keep going. The E46 is still a fatass of a car for the little guy to tow up hill at a decent speed even in the dry.

I thought you guys would get a kick out of it! His car is the reason I end up posting in this subforum. Thanks for helping me keep it going!

The snow is actually more than it looked like. We took his iX up and down the drive once just to make sure it wouldn't have any trouble. That's why in the video it isn't plowing any snow, which it certainly did on the first run out

Awesome! I've towed several stuck cars with my iX with no problems ever.

But I wouldn't go up against this guy:
