I need a new front rim and was wondering if the front and rear rims are the same or my car is just wack, because mine are different. The front has more lip and rear doesnt.
that's not a euroweave, but it's not a stock ix wheel either. the spokes look curved, the shape on both euroweaves and ix weaves are the same, and the euroweaves have less lip than that.
I know a certain pringle eating PNWer that had an ix that came with a euroweave on the back too. most people wouldn't even know the difference, and as long as the diameter is the same it doesn't make much difference (except the odd track width).
Red-ish 89 325ix with dent in the door, bad paint, missing center caps, broken defrost, broken ac, p/s pump may be going, brake pad sensors missing. On the plus side i just had the trannie and tc fixed for 2 grand!!
I bought mine with 3 of those wheels and 1 ix. Same diameter and width but dipperent offset. If I had 1 more ix wheel I would have left them on like staggered wheels.
The ET41 only matters in the front, for getting the steering geometry (specifically scrub radius) correct. I think BMW used ET41 all around just to prevent confusion when owners had tires replaced. It's certainly not necessary for anything on the rear.
Put your iX wheels on the front and run whatever you want in the rear.
I had the Mahle BBS 15x7 et13 sitting with 205/55 tyres.
and now im planning to make it 5 lug pattern and using 8,5x17 front and 10x17 rear..
I tested offset with my 5 series wheels.. they had et 13 on front and et 15 on rear... searching for et 30 for 8,5" wide and et 30 for 10" wide in the rear
here's what it looked from front... tyres would be 215/40 to front and 245/35 to the rear... yeah i like to make it little stretch.
well its only my hobby now :) on summer i just take it to the car shows and drive around city... if ill ever drive it on winter, ill put 15x7'' rims with offset around 40 and 185/65 tyres on it... but on summer, only look is important :)
