If the CEL flashed a code should be stored.
a ha! now we're getting somewhere. I had no idea about the 'stomp test'. Just did it now, and it looks like this is the code:

    1221
EGO Sensor #1 - 1221 - Fault related to Oxygen ( O2 ) sensor is present if the sensor is unplugged, bad / not-operational, or sensor values are out of range. Test the O2 sensor for proper operation, as well as check harness connections by the sensor and by the battery tray in the engine compartment.

now its making sense. Good thing is I ordered a new O2 sensor last night.....hoping this is all it is! Thank you for this!

i don't use a fairing. I had one on my old Audi and saw increased drag + noise with it on....so i chose not to use one w/ the E30.

    You're going from a 3.91 to a 4.10.. its not much of a difference.

initially this is what i was looking for since i had an issue w/ my last iX leaking gas from the tank.....but that car had a strong odor of gas coming from inside and outside the car (esp when i filled up). My current one doesn't show any signs of leaking coming from the tank but I'll def keep it in mind.

i'm jealous. Hopefully i can solve this sooner than later. Driving the E30 400+ miles a week to/from work, filling up twice weekly is def taking quite a hit on the wallet.
