i don't see any signs (smell) of any fuel leak, but not sure what exactly i should be looking for. I would expect a strong odor of fuel when parked if i was leaking, but I'm not. My exhaust tips do have black soot which i only notice between car washes, but not exactly billowing.

yeah i saw a thread about that. Just wanted a plug n play connection....didn't feel like splicing.

95% highway with my ix (i moved) now, i get 24-26mpg. 24, windows down, 80-85mph. 26, windows up, 75mph, trying to keep it easy on the throttle. and my bottom end has ~370k miles, i havent checked compression, but i doubt it's that great. worked head though. 17.5lb injectors.

o2 sensor. afm cleaned? can you swap dmes with someone?

I read many threads about cleaning afm's and it doesn't look like something i really wanna mess with to be honest. I have a spare AFM that i might try swapping out, but that one came out of a high mileage iX, in comparison to mine which only has 128K. I still have yet to unplug the DME that nando suggested, but might try swapping as well if that doesn't work.

fyi, my last fillup (with the A/C on full crank all week...blower motor is only working on highest setting and it was hot as balls in NY this week).....i only got 8.3 mpg! :curse:

    Something is seriously wrong here.

I clogged a cat on a Festiva once... But we had bought the car for $20 and subsequently cut the roof off and used it as a bowling ball into pins of empty 55gal drums.

put the O2 sensor in last night. Had to pipe wrench the thing off..... I'll report back to see if it'll make a diff, but just this mornings' commute didn't seem to help (35miles, and the gas needle moved significantly). I'll update once I go thru a full tank. Also added one bottle of Techron last week to my tank. I have been using my A/C though...

If this doesn't do it, I might look into new injectors and rebuilt AFM......or maybe clogged cat?
