    Subframe Question.

I am preparing myself to do the rear subframe bushings, but have re-discovered how much rust I have down there.

Is the rear subframe unique to the iX? Or can I collect a rear subframe from another (cali) E30?

REAL OEM lists 2 part numbers for the rear axle carrier when discussion the 325i and the 325ix

    IX part number 33311135546
    found here:
    http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...13&hg=33&fg=30

    i part number: 33311135456
    found here:

Personally I do not know of the difference - but it may be subframe bushing carriers (I do know the subframe bushings are different - but not sure what may be size diameter?)

They are different, but also interchangeable. You will need to add spacers to the bushings and diff.

only difference "is the bushings" once you press the subframe bushings out they are the exact same part, install 325i bushings it fits that car ,install IX bushings its now an IX subframe .......as it comes with the bushings thats the reason for different part #'s

My ix is using an "I" subframe, the difference is in the bushings/top washers, and the diff ear mount tabs.
