i installed mine over the summer. I did struggle with it a bit, but eventually it went on. I had to jack one side of the car up, to get the body to flex. I also needed to pry part of the bar over the threads (using the top of the strut housing as leverage)....and got her on. I loosened the 2 large bolts on either end of the bar as well. I helped a friend yrs yrs back on an unrelated Dinan bar on his E46....and came across a similar issue. Its made to keep the body tight, so you have to fight w/ it to get it on.

maybe this will help a bit. You can check measure between towers.

Is that for an ix? Because its not the same as RWD..

As far as fitment, mine was like an inch off. No way it was going to fit, and the body doesnt flex that much. If it did, the hood wouldn't fit. It should be within a mm or two.

i struggled w/ the bar for about 2hrs. Just when I was ready to give up, it fit onto the threads. I used a really large & beefy flathead (a bit smaller than a crow bar) + towels to make sure I didn't mess the finish up. Initially it was about 3/4 of an inch off. With the car jacked up, it was about 1/2inch off. I fought the other 1/4inch on.

I will tell you, it made a HUGE difference in handling. It really firmed things up front

Kind of a crappy picture but I got a Bavarian auto strut bar to fit perfectly on my ix.
