Is there any point of carrying one if my spare isn't EXACTLY the same as the wheels and tires on the car? Does anyone just do the repair kit/pump?

our cars came with a basketweave 15" stock as the spare tire
I recommend putting a stock weave with a tire similar in size so it will fit on any corner of your iX if you get a flat.Comment

Running with one tire a different diameter can put a lot of stress and heat into the VC's in the transfer case and rear diff.
Carry a full size spare, the same size as the other four, preferably the same brand/model as well to be sure that it's the same rolling diameter.Comment

Not sure if it's just me, but I'd rather call a flatbed than do that.Originally posted by priapismMy girl don't know shit, but she bakes a mean cupcake.Originally posted by shamesonUsually it's best not to know how much money you have into your e30Comment

if it's like 2% smaller it's not going to make a difference for a short drive home or to a tire shop. if it's 10% smaller then you have the wrong sized tires anyway.
I'd put it on the front so you don't also stress the rear VC though.Comment

Okay thanks! Mine is close, its a 14"bottle cap but with a odd tire size, I'll take a look and see how close it is.
OTHER question I have is if I ruined 1 tire (sidewall clipped a brick under snow on my building parking lot and now it has a bulge) Do I have to replace all 4 tires now? The other 3 have about 60% life in them.Comment
