Where to buy 325ix oil pump

I know this has been brought up a few times but I couldn't find any definite answers. I've heard that you have to get the oil pump from Germany, is there a website or something I can get a hold of or go to, so I can order one?

If by "Germany" you mean dealer, that seems to be correct. Doing a quick search did not reveal that there are any aftermarket pumps out there (I could be wrong since I didn't search too long). There are several internet BMW dealers who sell factory parts. The best pricing I have found is at:

    I used p/n 11 41 1 706 805. Make sure this the correct p/n for your year.

I think the ix specific pump is actually NLA, even from BMW directly. good luck on your search.

ECSTuning shows that they carry it. Might try them.

Why do you need to replace yours?

Ya I seen ecs had them, I think I'm going to order from them. Mine is fine but I'm rebuilding the motor so I'd rather be safe then sorry

they don't really wear out unless there's a catastrophic failure. it pretty much lives in oil it's whole life.

Ecs doesn't have any. They do not stock them. Their listing is just based off of what the bmw stocking system says. Back ordered, but likely NLA.

Would love a link where you found it on pelican, as it doesn't show up for me. Curiously, they list oil pan gaskets but I thought the ix didn't use a pan gasket, just an rtv?

To quote the Bavarian auto recyclers guy I spoke to today, "finding a new ix oil pump is like looking for a unicorn"

Where to buy 325ix oil pump

I bought one for my 91 ix from eeuroparts.com about 2 months ago. I had it in 4 days. I may have grabbed the last one in the country at the time. $196 for the part. I realize this isn't a common wear and tear item and it is submerged in oil its whole life. But after 220k miles the tolerances in the pump gear is probably looser and not pumping as efficiently.

I figured while I had the oil pan off what are some critical things I could do. Restoring oil pressure to like new is cheap insurance. Plus the labor to get back in there is a PITA.

I did look around at dealers and the part is $150 more and 3-4 week lead time. I thought all the bmw parts came out of worldpac.

It was also a Bmw part same *stampings* as the one I removed. I even asked at the dealer how the online places can offer such a discount. They couldn't answer why.
