    Good iX Brake kit?

Im looking to do a complete overhaul on my 88' iX's brakes. (SS lines, rotors, pads, sensors) Anyone have any suggestions? I was looking at Catuned but I dont think theyre rotors fit the iX. Has onyone evr heard of this company??

Seems like a really good deal to me and they apperently fit iX.

any E30 front brakes for 4 lug cars work on an ix.

the ix has specific rear rotors, but any standard E30 pads fit.

Are you looking for a stock replacement kit with rotors and pads? I'd stick to stock. braided lines aren't needed but they're not expensive.

personally, I'd go with blunttech for the better service than FCPeuro. That kit won't fit the ix because it has the wrong rear rotors.

Hello, my name is Gareth Foley and I am the BMW Catalog Manager at FCP Euro. I saw this thread and had to join this forum to clarify something. The brake kit with fitment for the 325iX is incorrect for because of the rear rotor. I saw this mistake this morning and updated it so fitment no longer shows. I did put together a brake kit specifically for the 325iX. I wanted to inform you of this change before you saw it on the website.

No problem. Yes, it is currently active on the site. Only real difference is the rotors due to what's readily available. If you search for it in our site with you year, make, model it will be under brake kits. I would link you, but I don't want to violate any forum rules.

I searched for it and its only showing the front kit. Is that what you meant?

I've been happy with Hawk HPS rear pads. 'Cause I had an OReily's gift card, threw on some rotors they had that weren't a mint and so far so great. Broke them in per recommended, so good hard stops, and they are golden!

                  '88ix here too.

You can link, nobody is going to ding you for that.

EDIT: I thought I recognized your name... I remember you from bimmerwerkz and more recently your youtube channel. How are the E39 and E92?

The SS lines need more maintenance (in the form of twice yearly inspections) and will not last as long as rubber lines, as they are vulnerable to wear from road grit working its way into the braid.

I'm not sure if people say that SS lines are great because SS lines are always installed with other upgrades, or if the placebo effect makes them think that they made an improvement because they spent money.

That being said, test data shows that SS lines are only a tiny, tiny bit stiffer than OE rubber lines in terms of volume growth per psi of line pressure... something like 0.0x cc's of volume increase per 1000 psi of line pressure in 12 inches of hose...

So did this get sorted out?

Looking for a good track setup for my ix. Would it be going with the brembo drilled/slotted fronts and just stock replacements for the rears?

drilled rotors are a waste of money.

Look in the track section. ix front brakes are the same as every other E30, so what works for them will work for us. rear pads are the same but the rotors are different, but it doesn't really matter - stock rotors are fine with good pads and fluid.

you know, I've had SS lines on my car for like 12 years now. maintenance? I haven't had to do anything extra. My rear lines aren't even coated. By now they probably need replaced just because the rubber is more than a decade old, but that doesn't have anything to do with them being SS.

also, last I checked most people are using these with stock brakes, so I don't know what other upgrades people would be doing at the same time. Plus, good quality SS lines are significantly cheaper than stock parts.

Aren't the mount brackets on the IX for the fronts different than other E30's.
