you'd be better off building your own or just modifying the stock one.
I'm willing to bet that cat isn't even close to as good as the stock one for ~$300..
I'm just trying to find a replacement section, since I think I have a hole in the cat (bad exhaust leak, which I still have to diagnose). I haven't priced a replacement OEM one, but my hunch is that its prob 2xs+ the amount of this.
I honestly would like to keep the cat stock though, since the Magnaflow muffler is already loud enough for what I can deal w/.

are you sure it's a hole in the cat, or just a hole in the heat shield? I'd look into it a little more before throwing the original out. Unless it's been abused or actually does have a huge hole in it, it's probably still good.
it could also be a crack in one of the pipes or in the flex coupling.
pretty sure a stock one costs way more than 2x the magnaflow, unfortunately. :(
Personally, I'd never buy a magnaflow cat again. I wish I'd just left my stock mid section in, I didn't really even gain much power. The only real benefit was the reduction in weight..

I ripped that heat shield off yrs ago lol.
I'll take your advice. I have a really good welder here in my area, so i'm hoping its just a broken weld/crack in the pipes that can easily be fixed. I should replace all the exhaust/header gaskets too. they are crumbling.

I don't know if this is a viable option, but there are a couple ix's being parted on denver Craigslist. Perhaps you can talk a seller in to shipping a good used one.
I would personally prefer this over an aftermarket-assuming it is good, that is.

I'll check it out thanks! I still have to get under there to see whats going on.
On another note, Frank88ix (my buddy who I sold the other iX I had to), is having a cat issue. From the sounds of it, the internals of the cat seem to be disintegrating. We removed the half rusted cat casing, but the tinny rattle sound is still there, and is coming from that area.
Would there be any drawbacks in cutting out the cat, and welding a universal one that fits that section? If so any recommendations on universal cats that may fit this? Should he just straight pipe it? I'm assuming a CEL would be thrown as a result
