I just bought an 89 ix automatic that had been sitting for a little while. The fuel lines are gummed up, and for some reason they removed the part of the drive shaft that connects to the rear diff. Does anyone have an exploded diagram of an ix? And does anyone know the part number on this piece, and is it the same as the rwd car?

You can use that to find car parts.
They probably removed the drive shaft because something was wrong with the diff or something regarding the rear drive. If they did that and kept it that way for any amount of time, they're probably not the most responsible owner and you're probably in for a lot of fun.

Definitely trying to see what's wrong. The car is currently having running problems. I got her to turn over and idle for 15 or so minutes, and now it won't start. The starter is working fine but fuel isn't getting to the motor:/.
I think it's up for a part out, but I'm still trying to decide. How much $$ could I get for a complete part out in your guys's opinion?sigpic1989 325i Cirrusblau Sedan-Sold

My guess is old fuel or sediment has made its way through the fuel pump / filter / injectors and has stopped them up. Did you drain the old fuel and put in fresh fuel before attempting the start?
As far as partout, most of us IX owners do whatever we can to preserve the remaining few that exist. The decision to part one out is usually made considering the amount of rust on the car, 5 speed or auto, and if it is a coupe or sedan. Mechanical items, while expensive, can be found.

Red one is the ix. I got it for $600 in non-operating condition with a clean title. The previous owner was an older lady and she had it for 16 years. I've got it running, the problem was a bad battery and old old gas. It's auto, sadly, but I want to turn it into a winter beater/rally car. Or sell it on so I can invest in turbo parts for my cirrus sedansigpic1989 325i Cirrusblau Sedan-Sold

I don't believe it was driven like that, but it was definitely towed like that, do you think it's toasted?
