325ix auto to manual swap kit cost...

How does $1200 sound (including shipping) for the following to do an auto to manual swap for an ix. Assume all is in very good condition.

    transfer case
    transmission
    clutch disk
    flywheel
    clutch master
    slave cylinder
    pedal box
shift selector assembly, shifter, shift knob, shift boot

Second question. Would a swap affect the value of a minty, extremely low miles car that is otherwise stock, except for a few oem upgrades.
I know that manual is preferred, but for an unusual "time capsule" car, would a significant change to how it rolled out of the factory matter.
The question is a bit academic, since I'm going to do what I want, but I am curious about opinions.

if you can buy all that for 1200 with a known good transfer case, i say its a fair deal. not a steal but those parts are not easy to find. maybe you can get your hands on manual diffs too?

some may disagree with me, but i say the manual swap will improve the value of the car. no one wants an auto e30.

after all, its not like we are talking about a rare v12 Ferrari from the '60s. do the swap if yo have the means. you will enjoy the car so much more. that is what counts in the end.

For the kind of driving I do in this car, I was thinking of keeping the 4.1 diffs. Most driving is off the highway, only occasional 20-30ish minutes at a time. So, prefer to a bit better acceleration at lower speeds.
Does that make sense? Or, are the manual, 3.91 diffs preferable?

i would prefer to have the 3.91's personally, but this isn't a deal breaker. i would buy them if you can get them at a reasonable price with the rest of the parts. you can decide down the road to sell them if you don't use them.

be true to yourself and make the car your car. a wise man here once said saving the car for the next owner is like not having sex with your girlfriend so she is more appealing to the next guy.

the 3.91 in my manual car is still too short. 3600 rpm at 80 drives me nuking futz its one of the reasons i want to get rid of my car for a rwd car.

            Put bigger tires on it.

While the 3.91 is a hair short on the freeway, everything is relative... The 3.91 in my manual ix seems very mellow after hopping out of my 4 speed (rwd) 2002 with a 3.91 - imagine 4500 RPM at 80mph.

                it's not really 3600rpm at 80 with 3.91s. it's barely 3600rpm at 80 with the 4.10s.

personally, the stock ix is pretty slow - I think it needs all the gearing you can get.
