    325iX Review in the Snow

Check out this article I just wrote on my 325iX:

Let me know what you think, and feel free to correct me if I messed up on any data points!

Neat review looks like fun. I like your instagram page. I would post if i had one, but here's my allrad

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.

Nice article! as far as fact checking - the production numbers are a little off, but not a big enough deal to worry about.

      This however, is incorrect:
The viscous coupling differentials work by locking under friction, so when one wheel spins faster than the other, the fluid is heated and locks the coupling, effectively locking the differential.
The VC does not work off friction, and heat doesn't cause it to lock up. The VC works via shear forces - caused by the slotted plates that alternate between the input/output shafts moving through the silicone fluid. As the plates move through the fluid, the shear force increases; basically, a faster movement = higher shear force = higher locking action. There is some heat generated, but this is a byproduct.

I had a feeling you'd chime in, Nando. Thanks!

What are the correct production numbers?

Regarding the VC, I guess it's time to brush up on my engineering terminology! Thanks for setting me straight, I'll correct the article.
