They require 525ix everything else, right?

            How did you piece together a 24v G260 again, early 520i E34?

Yes with a 525ix gearbox you better use the rest too.

525iX transmission must be used with 525iX T-case.
Will require a u-jointed driveshaft if used with anything but 525iX front drive assembly.

The 24V G260's were used in early M50 E34 520i's (and even 525i's according to the interchange)

Hey Nisse! I'd be interested! If I wanted to manual swap my E34 525iX would I need only the transmission or is the transfer case specific?

Looks like you would need the transfer case too.

Jeez that makes for a heavy shipment. It'll have to wait for now.

I have a 24v ix getrag 260 - likely the only one in existence. But you have to make it yourself, basically. I had Drivegear mate an ix rear housing with the front housing from an early euro M50 powered E34 (they came with a Getrag 260 for something like the first 4-5 months of production). Not really cheap or easy to source though..

BMW formerly had the 24V front housings in stock and orderable, but the Z1 crowd used them all. The Z1 uses the same rear housing as the iX, but bolts it to a torque tube instead of a transfer case.

Of course the real fun would be to get the Euro market sport G260 with the 3.35 first AND the 24V bellhousing and put it all together with an iX rear housing...
