    Next up: new gas tank

Next project is dropping and replacing the fuel tank which decided so spring a massive leak over the past week.
I already plan on replacing all rubber hoses including the vent hose while its down...Anything else y'all recommend me inspecting replacing while I have the exhaust dropped and rear driveshaft out?

    Cheers!

Inspect everything rubber under your car.

You have to take the rear driveshaft out, so good opportunity to replace that guibo if you haven't recently.

Also all the exhaust hangers will need attention.

What about the steel fuel lines, are they rusty? If so, replace those too.
When you buy them from BMW they come pre bend.

Also while replacing those, replace the little phillips screws that hold the fuel lines to the floor with some stainless steel hex screws. If you'll ever have to remove the fuel lines again you won't strip the head on them.

+1 for everything rubber under the car.

Also check the cloth braided rubber line between the fuel tank and the expansion tank.

Finally, check the rear brake hard lines. They are a bitch to do, but the job is somewhat easier with the fuel tank out. Check the rear brake soft lines between the body and the subframe.
