    Probably a stupid question, but would a bad dme cause abs problems?

      The ix ABS has an input to the DME, which on the '88 (with Motronic 153) needed a 1k resistor to function properly. Basically the DME didn't hold the pin low which would trigger an error in the ABS computer.

      This was fixed on later Motronic 1.3 cars.

        So the 173 dme with the resistor would take care of that then? Just wanna be sure before I dive into stuff haha.

          you wouldn't need a resistor with a 173 - that is only required with the original 153.
