Has anyone gone to Ground Control coilovers but kept their car at, or near stock height? I think it would be cool to have the adjustability with spring rates, height, etc... without the headache of going through front CVs.

You would just need to get an alignment/toe adjustment when you change the height.

Bilstein HD shocks with half of the internal bump stop cut off. Eibach 250lb 10" front / 315lb 9" rear. Front adjusters are about halfway, rear adjusters are all the way down. I cut the stock spring perches off and had the GC adjuster perch welded to the stock spring perch weld line.AWD > RWD

If you got the front struts shortened your car will never be at stock height again, even at the highest adjustment setting. Ask me how I know. However, if you didn’t have them shortened and only installed the coilover conversion kit you can buy from them online for about $500 plus shocks, you can get damn close to stock height. The benefit of the shortened struts are for more shock travel when your slammed which you might not really need by the sound of the ride height your after.
PS: I’ve had both versions on two separate e30 builds.

Yup very true, I’m just basing it off the standard shortening GC offers (I payed them to shorten the struts rather then weld/ shorten myself). Spring length is also a big factor though like you said.
