I think the biggest benefit to driving an E46 xi in the snow is if you put it into a ditch you won't care so much because they're not worth anything and they made 11 billion of them. :p

Not exactly true, at least not for the Touring. BMW only sold 6,036 E46 xi Tourings in the US. A clean 5-speed Touring regularly sells in the $8-$10k region.

The body color urethane fender flares with exposed fasteners aren't my style but to each his own.

I'd rather throw an Xi subframe under an actual M3... (and drop in an LS with Trailblazer oil pan and front diff, but I digress)
