Das Fliegen Brick
It's the ugliest iX in this thread, but it's got solid mechanicals and sure is a heck of a lot of fun. :D Just needs a new clutch. The stock clutch won't handle the boost anymore, but it should last a little while longer as long as I keep it under 4000 RPM.

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.Comment

Quint did a great job building the car, it's been a LOT of fun. I've done a ton of minor things to it though. Fixed numerous vacuum leaks, a couple gas leaks, replaced a CV boot, replaced the spark harness, and got some nice 215/65 R14 tires on it. I played around with the Megasquirt settings as well to try to get some better fuel mileage, but found it runs much better a little rich than it does a little lean. I've also replaced the seats with leather Ricaro's from my 325is, replaced the steering wheel with an M-Tech I wheel and moved a few other things from my 325is to the iX.
The brakes really need new front rotors and pads though, and the stock clutch is just about burnt. It won't handle any boost. I'm headed to basic training with the Air Force Reserve in 2 weeks though, so I'm pretty sure it'll last me until then as long as I keep the car under 4000 RPM. I'll be finding a nice Stage I or Stage II clutch for it sometime in November when I get back, and then start playing around with the turbo system a bit. There are a few improvements I would like to make. I'll eventually be rebuilding the engine as well... thinking of boring it out to 2.8L or 3.0LComment
