E30 late model rear valance retrofit

    Hi everyone.

I recently got my hands on a late model REAR lower valance cutout and was looking to retrofit this onto my early model coupe.

I browsed through a few threads on this forum and read that a few people were successful in using adhesive to glue it over the existing lower panel without having to cut and weld.

Unfortunately those threads are quite old and the photos attached no longer work.

Does anyone have any photos and or tips on how they installed it?

I can most likely figure it out once I mock it up but would appreciate and advice/tips in advance.

    Thanks!

Cutting and welding is the "proper" way to do the job.

You could use adhesive, or drill holes and use pop rivets.

SEM makes epoxy that will glue that on and it will never come off. One would rip the surrounding area before the bond would break. The dispenser gun is the expensive part. If interested, I can post pics of the gun and epoxy cartridge. New cars are largely glued together, however; it is imperative to know where structural welding is required.
