I think a lot of people don't understand what you are doing.
My suggestion would be to apply a LOT more foam then shape it down again. This will fill all the holes that you have now.
What are you using to shape it? I've found this stuff tears easy.
To finish it off, fill with bondo, use high build primer then polish it to as smooth as a finish as you can get. Then use release wax and you shouldn't have a problem.Comment

That is the idea. I add foam, sand down, fill in holes, etc. It's getting tedious tho. I'm half tempted to rip it off and say "fuck it"I think a lot of people don't understand what you are doing.

lol yea im leaning towards it. I did the first section of the fender tonight and it turns out I hate working with fiber glass. Blech.
But for all those who laughed and shat on my idea, at least I gave it a shot. Thats more than tons of ppl. 90% of what i try I've never done before. Thats how I got 350whp.

Did you make a mold or is that what you glassed off the foam?Comment

This is what I FGed from the foam.
The plan is to get this piece of FG formed the way I want it (and much stiffer) and if I like the way it looks, make a mold from this piece. It's much easier for me to form and sand with fiberglass and fiberglass bondo than the foam I was using. I can easily add and remove layers.
This way, when I make a form, its 100% the way I want it and its just a matter of shoving some fiber glass in a waxed mold and I'm good to go. I plan to crash on track and its much easier to crank out a new over fender and snap it on than anything else.
Plus, if ppl like it, I guess I can sell some.

I'm dumb and didn't read the whole ebay posting. it's $90 flat rate shipping. so its $185... yea... It cost me about $100 to make this one side and probably a max of 50 more to make the other side. It was enough that I'd rather have a slightly off looking wide body than just some fender flares.
ebay pwns me
