Looks much cleaner with the stock painted hood BUT on lachsilber the CF hood looks fine as well as it adds a nice contrast and the weave someone blends with it. Of course, the hood is also lighter which is always a plus. Fitment is OK with a lot of adjustment and hood seals. My OEM hood is imperfect which led me to get the CF hood and I got it for just about nothing = ]. I think the hood only looks good on two colors, Lachsilber and black.

Why did you change your hood? Was it because of the fitment, or did you just want a painted hood? If you just wanted your hood to match, you should have just painted the VIS hood. You would have had the lightness of the carbon hood, without the riceyness. But if you changed it because of the fitment, never mind everything I just said.
With either hood, I prefer it painted.

You cannot paint a VIS hood. The fitment is livable with hood seals, but barely.
If it was painted it would look like complete shit.
I always wanted the hood painted, when I bought it I was hoping I could fit it better then anyone else had (and I did) but it still was no where near good enough to paint.Tenured Automotive Service Professional - Avid BMW Enthusiast

Does anybody make a fiberglass hood? Would those have the same fitment problems as carbon?
