    Fml.

I was coming off of the Everett street exit from 405 north where it merges right on to SW Salmon. I was doing 15, maybe 20 mph, just coasting and not on the gas at all. The back end just keeps rotating even as I straiten out the wheel. It came around and pushed me right in to the curb. I stood on the clutch and brake but it wasn't enough.

Now that it's home I can take some good pics. I haven't pulled the bumper/mtech off yet to inspect further, but initial inspections show it's not as bad as I feared. The radiator did spring a leak, I'm not sure if it's the hose or the radiator itself. The mtech is definitely repairable, 2 small cracks that can easily be filled in. The rest is just smoothing/painting and new clips. The fender is bent where it ties in to the valance, and the valance is pretty fucked. But because it's fully covered by the mtech it doesn't have to be perfect. If I can get it back in to it's proper position, it may be salvageable. Core support is bent a little bit on that bottom corner by the drain plug but should be fixable with some channel locks and a hammer.

I'm a total bodywork newbie, never touched a thing on this car. Any tips, pointers, advice from R3v?

Got shit out. It's not as bad as I initially thought. But I'm still going to look for a new valance rather than trying to shadetree this one (If I can find one soon at the right price). The core support is pushed in a little bit, but I think a sledge will get it back the 1/2" it needs to move. The thick corner section though is pretty tough and isn't easy to move.

Fender is another issue, not sure how I'm going to tackle that. You can see here how much it's pushed out

Mtech is in surprisingly good shape, just 2 small cracks

Radiator may or may not be fubar'd, going to get it pressure and leak tested to see. It's brand new so I'd rather not dump another $180 on a new one.

I would have cried on the spot.

No longer stock ride height, rolling as low as a daily driver in New England should without worrying about breaking an oil pan.

I don't know exactly. I haven't gotten the alignment set yet, the gearing is too low, rear sway is probably too stiff, stomped on the brakes instead of giving it gas, etc.. Also my brake pads suck ass. If I had better bite in the pads I would have stopped the 28" sooner I needed to avoid that curb.

I nearly did, but I was in too much shock.

Now you know why I don't want remote start in my manual cars :)

Thanks for the condolences bud, it'll be back on the road soon. I'm dropping off the mtech to get repainted today, getting the radiator checked for leaks and then it's either wait for a new valance or try and bend mine back in to shape. Obviously it doesn't need to be perfect because the mtech covers it all up, it just needs to be strait enough so that the mtech and fogs attach to it straight and proper without funny gaps.
