1 is more than enough (assuming that it is a standard size rattle can).

yep. You'll have plenty of paint left over. I used a 340g (i live in Canada ;) ) which I believe translates to about 12.5oz.
I had enough for 2 coats, paint the fog blanks as well. Still have approx 1/5 left.

BTW, I got my paint from the local autoparts store, they mixed up the paint for me while I waited, for about $30 Canadian. No need to deal with shipping and what not that way.

I used a rattle can for my lip, then later on used a compressor for my skirts and rear apron. Rattle cans are pretty hard to use, but it can be done and come out quite nicely.

For my lip, I did finish it with a clear out of the gun though.

your car is schwartz right? mine is the same, where did you go to get your paint mixed, and what sort of information did you have to give them? Just the name of the color? Or some code too?

My car is diamondschwarz. I went to Lordco, not sure if you have that where you live.
Just tell them which car you have (just in case) and also have the color code in handy. I think DS is 181 or something like that.

no, it's not, not unless you plan on doing it all in one coat without wet sanding between, in which case you will be able to tell it was rattle canned. I used 1 can of primer, 2 cans of base and 2-3 cans of clear on my lip. maybe you can get away with less base on a black car, but on silver I don't think it will be enough.

go ahead and order one can if you wish, but if you order two you can always use the other one to paint other things on your car (like your spoiler, heh). but if you only get one, and it turns out that it's not enough, you gotta order again, wait a week and pay shipping twice..

when it's all done, wetsand the clearcoat with 2000 grit and polish with 3m fine rubbing compound, it will look great. :)

also make sure to get flexible primer and the flex additive for your clearcoat..

at that price, it makes more sense to bring it to a shop. i can get it prepped and painted for under $100, done well. seems like that's the way to go, yours did come out perfect, i give you tons of points for that.
