Approximate cost to have a trunklid painted?

We're getting a new trunklid for my wife's E30, and it's coming sanded, primed and ready for paint.

About what will it cost for a bodyshop to shoot and clearcoat it?

    Thanks in advance.

How anal are you about having a perfect color match? Also, what color is her car?

Delphin Grey Metallic, and we would like it to be as color matched as possible, but it doesn't need to be concours-perfect.

I really don't want to paint it myself, then have to deal with clearcoat, and doing the whole thing properly. I've never painted body panels, and I don't want to fuck up something that I don't know how to do in the first place.

I'd rather just take it to a body shop and have it professionally done. Does anyone have an idea about how much it will cost?

I was quoted 300cdn once, cuz I have a chip on mine from a bike peg.

I just touched it up instead. My quote was them prepping and stuff though.

              Sold it.

their paint is great for small things (spoilers etc), but I wouldn't want to paint a whole trunk lid with rattle cans...

I think you are looking in the 100-200 range for a trunk lid, very generalized of course.

                      May I suggest?

Go to a local body shop/paint supply store (there is probably an Industrial Finishes or similar around) and ask if there is a guy who is known for doing quality work on the side. Lots of them kick ass, but just don't wanna work for da man, ya know?

I had my trunk lid and spoiler color matched and sprayed on an alpine white car for 135. I brought it to them ready to prime.
                        hope this helps,

Had a shop quote me for $350 to remove the rear spoiler and fix all the dings and dents in the trunklid. They do extremely excellent work, they did my M-Tech II front. Show quality painting there...and thats for all the prep work and everything too.
