I ripped my splitter off my lip today, and it flexed the lip a lot causing spider-web like flex cracks to show up in the paint. They are extremely fine, and only visible the right light, but I know it's going to bother me. Is there any way of fixing this, without repainting the whole lip? I was thinking maybe sanding down some of the clear and then reclearing the lip, would it make any difference?

lame, how did you rip the splitter off? there were like 15 screws holding that thing on.
as far as the spider webbing, that paint was SUPPOSED to have flex addive in it. however, on my faux rieger lip there is already some small spider cracking, and that thing is not exactly as flexible as the is lip. I feel like taking pictures and asking them what's the deal with their supposedly flexible clearcoat..
btw, there's quite a few basecoats on that spoiler (5-6, plus the clear), if you're careful you might be able to get away with sanding down through the first layer of clear and reclearing it. if you have to have it repainted anyway it might be worth a shot. don't want to go too low with the grit though.Comment

Chris, nothing broke, just broke the screws out on my friends driveway.
It looks like the base paint is fine, its just the clear. So I might try what you said and just buy a can of clear since its cheap.Comment
