side door mouldings (ix) want something different

want to do something about my door side mouldings, mine aren F*ed and they are ix specific as the the side skirts make them shorter on the fender and quarter panel,
Wanted to know if I could modify some e36 mouldings and make them fit?
I don't want "it will look like shit" I want to know if they can be modified, IE are they long enough on the door, quarter panel, and fender to be cut shorter to work?

Any other ideas or options would be appreciated, this is all I basically need to get the IX back on the road after many long and tedious repairs, (head gasket, and tranny swap, and drive shaft replacement)
Any HELP will be grateful indeed, thanks -Bryant

Anything is possible. Some of the AV3 body kit model cars have E36 M3 side moldings. But they won't clip on, or go on without a lot of length and mounting point modifications.

Let's drive fast and have fun.

I think it would be easiest to just paint them body color. if they are just oxidized, try cleaner wax or rubbing compound (but do it in the shade).

I was gonna try to retrofit e36 m3/4 side mouldings on my car and make a step by step guide. But Im too cheap to buy the mouldings, I have too many other things I need to get done first.

Maybe next summer I'll get around to it. I hahe how the e30 mouldings are so thin and stick out so much. Maybe from a functionality standpoint that is beneficial, but in terms of appearance it looks like shit. They should have made it flatter and wider to blend in and align with the front and rear bumper trim.
