              here is the Sport Compact car article referenced earlier...



              They just cleaned the chrome really well, and used a light coating of gloss black spray paint to get the effect you see...

              I agree it won't be permanent, but once or twice a year, pop the kidney's off and do it again... another hour, and another $5... Not a bad sacrifice if you ask me!
