get the best gun you can afford. i painted a few cars with a MAC tools gun.. Found out it was a relabeled Taiwan Sunex. it gave out on my halfway through the last paint project. I bought a $300 Devilbiss GFG-670 Plus. IT is fucking amazing. Night and day difference. Regarding paint, i would stay away from eastwood. I got numerous paints from them and i was never satisfied. You need to look for an auto body suppplier. Or go to a shop and ask where they get there material. if you really dont care too much anbout appearance, some professional and experienced amateur painters have used the harbor freight purple HPLV with success. I would try it imo if you were on a strict budget and are not afraid of color sanding.Originally posted by ThatOneEuroE30 View Postwhat a good but relatively cheap paint gun. also where a good place to get so paint primer and clear just enough to do a fender, tail panel , and some spots on the door but they aren't big. dont care if one paint looks better then other its gonna be daily driven.Last edited by meanEG; 07-26-2014, 04:42 PM.Looking for late model fogs, E39 Fog lights, cool cheap 17 5x120 wheels.

He's done a few cars and some custom bike work now.Originally posted by priapismMy girl don't know shit, but she bakes a mean cupcake.Originally posted by shamesonUsually it's best not to know how much money you have into your e30

This may be true, but you have a better chance to get a good quality job with a more expensive gun. I know good jobs can be done with a cheap gun I have done it. I can say that with a known nice gun, you just have to learn technique and gain experience. You won't have to guess if its the gun.Originally posted by jaywood View PostNot necessarily. As long as you have a decent gun (even harbor freights work well these days), it comes down to the painter, not the gun.Looking for late model fogs, E39 Fog lights, cool cheap 17 5x120 wheels.

check out your local jobber. they will mix and make any color you want/need, locally and no need to ship. build a report with the guys and find the guy that used to do it for a living. milk them for information. you will probably pay a little more for the stuff you need, but the information gained is priceless.
check out autobodystore.com and
autobody101.com. they have some good forums on refinishing. they also sell everything you need except base coats I think.Looking for late model fogs, E39 Fog lights, cool cheap 17 5x120 wheels.

I just bought their two gun kit. I used the little gun with some leather dye. It is awesome so far. If the larger gun, I think you have a winner. The larger gun comes with 2 tips and a cleaning kit. I think it was $47.99 and don't forget to pull up the 20% off coupon on your phone. Not bad for less than $40Originally posted by dogze30 View PostharborfreightLooking for late model fogs, E39 Fog lights, cool cheap 17 5x120 wheels.
