    Textured or smoothed?

Well, I was going to attempt to keep my plastic bumper swap on the semi-DL, but I'm stuck trying to decide what to do with my front valence when I have it stripped and painted.

I can't decide if after it's stripped, if I should have it textured and then painted, or have it stripped bare and just painted. I think the smoothed out look is really nice, but at the same time, having the rubberized texture under the paint will help to cut down on the chips from rocks and crap on the roads, which there's a lot of around here. If I have it smoothed, I'm going to have 3M ClearBra applied, but that will also cost a little more. What should I do?

I'd go smooth with a clear bra on the valance and lip.

Yeah, the iS lip will be done, also.

THat was my plan. Of course, that never happened. Instead, my bumpers are trim black, and my de-textured valance will sit in my garage for another year, waiting for the day when I can afford to have it painted.

          *sigh* lol

I want it to look really good. Match the rest of my paint right on. I may try paintscratch sometime, but just didn't have the time and money for that even right now. SEM trim paint is $10 a can, and I don't have to worry about clear or waiting for it to get here ;)

I don't have to worry about clear. Number one, my car isn't clearcoated anyway, and two, I'm having ClearBra put on it. I may just end up going through Paintscratch and paint the valence and possibly the bumpers myself. Honestly, how hard can it be to match Schwarz?

If I had black, I'd do it. I hear ya, josh. ;)

Clearbra is the way to go. I was going to do that too.

Go textured especially on a black car where you see every chip
                    and scratch.

That's what the ClearBra will be for, though.

YES, that is the worse part about the texture, if i was respraying my car, all the texture would be removed just because of the pain it is to clean and wax it.

www.lamin-x.com, I have my entire iS lip spoiler wrapped in clear and you can't tell it's on there but I didn't end up putting it on my hood because I didn't want a highly visible line where the bra ends.
