So I am getting ready to start sanding down my 91 318ic vert and will bring it to a body shop to get resprayed. My question is - should I spring for the 2 stage respray? Looks like a 2 stage respray would be around $1200 or so, with a single stage running 700-800. The body shop says it will look fine in single stage but I know OEM was two-stage. Color is lagoon/laguna green. Car will be garaged and used sparingly. I will be sanding down to the base coat and filling in dents, etc. Any opinions one way or the other?

It's cheap but i've seen some of their work and it looks pretty decent. Still getting a few more quotes too.Rokas

From what I understand, as a general rule two stage paint will resist rock chips and fade better than most single stage paints.Comment
