18 layers of carbon??? thats really not such a good idea. For any composite that is used in a floorboard type application you should be using a core material with a few skins on either side.

this will also probably cost more than a new(to you) good e30 body.

im not sandblasting rust off. im just getting rid of the underbody layer of crap.

fiberglass is not that expensive. i get it a dime a dozen including resin!

this isnt suppose to be a professionally rebuilt 318! just a custom project car keep that in mind.

i think i still might do it just to see.


p.s. do you know how hard it is to pop that metal? and for the price of the right sized gun i can just get it welded.

It was just a suggestion sport. I've done a bunch of glass work on a J24 sailboat and it was not fun. Make sure you use a quality resin like West System, wear a mask when you sand and take your time.

This is Texas. Texas cars don't have rust. Anything you are finding with rust grew up up north.... My car has been Texas all its life and doesn't have a spec of rust on it
